Transloco Translator browser extension · Last updated: May 15, 2026

Summary

Transloco Translator is a browser extension that sends translation data to the backend API URL you configure. The extension does not operate a central translation service. We do not sell your data to third parties or use it for advertising.

What data is stored

Where data is sent

Translation saves and lookups are sent only to the API base URL you enter in the connection manager, using HTTPS in production (HTTP may be used for local development). You are responsible for the privacy and security practices of that API.

Permissions

Permission Why it is needed
storage Save connection profiles and header values on your device.
activeTab Interact with the page when you use the extension.
scripting Inject the selection UI only on site patterns you configure for the active connection.
optional_host_permissions (http/https) Requested when you save a connection, so the extension can reach your API and run on your chosen site domains. You approve each request; we do not claim all websites by default.

Third parties

The extension does not include analytics or advertising SDKs. Network requests go to URLs you configure, plus standard browser/extension infrastructure required by Chrome.

Data retention and deletion

Remove connections in the extension’s connection manager to delete stored settings. Remove the extension to clear local data. Synced data follows your Google account’s Chrome sync settings.

Children

The extension is intended for professional/team use on internal or project websites, not directed at children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised policy.
